Lutheran Schools Week

Lutheran Schools Week was a lot of fun.  On Monday every student in the school was given a new T-shirt.  There were also cool boards about the history of the school up in the library.
Tuesday was a sports themed day, when everyone wore the jersey of their favorite sports team.  (Sorry - no pictures).  Wednesday was the biggest day of the week.  Everyone wore the new shirts they got on Monday.  After chapel everyone went outside to tie a prayer ribbon to the fence.
Later in the afternoon the students took another trip up to the Crestwood care center to perform parts of their February program.  After they were done with the program they helped collect garbage on the way back to school.  About two blocks away from the school they found a picture of the Pastor and Mrs. Behnken's daughter -- a truly odd find...
Thursday was Hawaiian day.  Even though I took tons of pictures, only a few actually turned out!  I am alsways impressed to see the students reading out in the hall and they are always on task.
During the week it was Dr. Suess' birthday.  On Friday it was a bedtime story assembly.  Everyone wore their p.j.'s to school. The eighth graders read them Dr. Suess stories as they had cookies and milk.
Overall, I think they had a really fun week.  Thanks to the PTL for making it happen!
